Collecting soccer balls for the children of the Solomon Islands

This Project was an idea from Dr Barratt Phillips and his wife Marci, from Temecula
Ca. Their kids attended my 2009 camps in Temecula, and Barratt approached me
about his thoughts on the soccer ball project. They were to travel to the Islands
as volunteer physicians in November 2009 to help the needy parents and
children. The biggest wish from the children was to have soccer balls to play with,
things we take for granted! Over the next few months with the help of local
organizations, I was able to collect almost 250 soccer balls. 150 were shipped off
last November and another 100 will go this June 2010. As you can see from the
pictures the kids really had some fun.
Maybe our next project will be to help them with other soccer equipment. Thank
you all that made contributions to this worthy cause.
